I have been teaching seventh grade at Mountain Gap Middle School since August 1998. Before working at Mountain Gap, I taught eighth grade at Ed White Middle school for five years. Our family moved to Huntsville in December 1992 from the St. Louis area where I had been a teacher since in 1976.
My family includes my husband Allen and my two daughters, Meghan and Shannon. Meghan and our son-in-law Justin live in Daphne, Alabama, and they have two little boys, two-year-old Bridger and baby Taplin. Meghan teaches third grade in Mobile. Shannon and our son-in law Nathan live here in Huntsville. Shannon is a graphic designer and is the art director for Sew Beatiful Magazine, and she also has started her own business, Shannon Miller Creative. The youngest member of the family is Louie, the pug. He is a character and keeps everyone laughing.
Besides my work at Mountain Gap and spending time with my family, I enjoy reading, blogging and exploring on the Internet, shopping, playing Bunko with my teacher friends, and sewing. I am a quilter and always has a several projects under way.
